Update September 9th 2023: Emmanuel and family have been rescued from slavery!
Emmanuel worked as a farmer and saved enough money to buy a house for his family. But, someone cheated him in the transaction and he lost the home and his savings. He entered a long period of depression over the loss. During that time he had to take a loan out from the brickyard owner. Thus entering into indentured servitude. In the intervening time his wife died. As of this writing, he and his son (24) and his daughter (19) make bricks at the brickyard.
